Enhancing the IB and MCB Undergraduate Experience at Cal

The IB and MCB Departments have partnered up to support undergrads and their love for the biosciences.

More than 200 students attended this exciting networking event held on Jan 21st from 2-5pm in the Li Ka Shing Lobbies. Even more incredible? That this event was made BY students (both IB and MCB) FOR students. A whopping 26 clubs and organizations dedicated their time and efforts to the student community.

Rare Octopus at a home in Alameda and in a UC Berkeley lab

A breed of octopus that was not to have known to exist until 20 years ago is being bred and raised in a lab here on campus! According to Professor Roy Caldwell, they are the "most beautiful octopuses I have ever seen." Math / Science Teachers win $175K Grants to Teach

Berkeley’s CalTEACH program, which graduated its first credentialed teacher in 2011 and its first full cohort of students this year, places undergraduates in local classrooms to beef up math and science education and to serve as college-going role models.
