Integrative Biology 155L Wild Berkeley: Investigating Local Ecosystems

Catalog Description : The course explores how organisms, communities and ecosystems function in real-world contexts, and how ecologists study these patterns across space and time. You will learn ecological field methods, including plant and insect sampling, biodiversity surveys, and environmental measurements. You will also use tools and resources to improve your data analysis, spatial reasoning, and scientific communication, including R, iNaturalist, and museum collections. You can expect to be actively busy discussing and practicing new techniques. The course includes both instructor-driven and student-driven discussions, activities, and presentations. You will develop the skills to design your ecological study and prepare a research talk.
